The Best Fitness Events and Tradeshows to Attend in 2019

Fitness is in our DNA here at Action PR. As such, our clients often ask for our opinion about the best events at which to exhibit or to attend. To help you plan for the year ahead, we’ve put together this handy guide of events and tradeshows that you’d be mad not to put in your diary for 2019:

The National Running Show – 19 / 20 January

NEC, Birmingham

Now in its second year, the award-winning National Running Show is the event for any running enthusiast. Over the course of two days you’ll hear from a range of fantastic speakers including Paula Radcliffe, Iwan Thomas, Ben Smith, Jo Pavey and Rodger Black amongst many more. The event has a whole range of experts to support your running needs and, new for 2019, they will be running a podiatry clinic. Plus, there will be over 100 of the top running brands exhibiting.

PS – Our Head of Industry is an ambassador of the show and this is one of her favourite events of the year!

National Running Show

Sweat – 26th February

Studio Spaces, London

Going into its third year, Sweat has fully cemented its presence within the fitness calendar. It’s the event for boutique fitness, connecting forward-thinking brands, start-ups, influencers and investors. It’s a great chance to hear the latest insights from this growing and influential sector of the fitness industry. We will be there to support our client, miha bodytec, who are a headline partner.

FIBO – 4/5/6/7 April

Koln, Germany

If you’re only planning to go to one event this year, then really it should be FIBO. We promise it’s worth the trip across the seas!

Firstly, it’s the largest fitness convention in Europe. The show brings the latest innovations in fitness from across the globe. With over 150,000 visitors and over 1,000 exhibitors, it’s a great chance to network and find out what’s new in fitness. Plus, the show has over nine different halls covering everything from functional training to wellness and beauty, to sports nutrition and everything in-between, so you’re bound to find something interesting.

The Action PR team will be there in force to support some of our clients including Les Mills and miha bodytec, as well as taking the opportunity to check out what’s new on the fitness scene.

Elevate – 8 / 9 May

Excel, London

If you can’t fit in the travel abroad, then Elevate is your next best event. It’s the largest UK trade event for the physical activity sector and has a stellar line-up of over 350 speakers representing industry, policy, academia, human performance, health care and local government, sharing perspectives, ideas and the latest innovations proven to get people more active. With over 350 exhibitors in show, it’s a great chance to see the latest equipment on the market.

The event also plays host to COPA, the UK’s leading event for physical therapy, as well as the Elite Sports Performance show, the UK’s leading event for human performance, bringing together elite sports clubs, coaches and athletes.

Once again, the Action PR team will be there to support a few of our clients who will be attending and speaking at the event.
