20 Dec Action PR: A year in Review
We kicked off 2018 with the launch of our new website. With the help of our amazing models and great photographer Marcel, the site portrays the modern, fitness inspired and forward-thinking essence of our agency.
We helped to launch the Buddhify meditation app – which was subsequently named best meditation app to aid anxiety by Buzzfeed! Now you know why we are such a zen office and it’s got nothing to do with the big fun yoga balls in the meeting room…
Les Mills, leading group exercise provider, joined the APR family, bringing us the opportunity to talk all things fitness classes, technological innovation and in-depth scientific research. We are all on board with creating a fitter planet #onetribe!
We worked with the amazing Neurokinex to launch Neurokinex Kids, a centre providing pioneering rehabilitation programmes for children living with paralysis. The team continue to inspire us every day and we still can’t get over how cute Jasper looks in his Superman costume.
We also attended FIBO, the world’s biggest trade show for fitness, wellness and health, in Cologne, Germany. The team had a lot of fun and got to spend some time with Eddie Hall and meet Johnny G, the founder of Spinning.
We held a blogger event for our client FitQuest, inviting exercise lovers to test their fitness levels using FitQuest tracking technology. The afternoon was a great, sweaty laugh and the goody bags were even better!
We helped to coordinate the opening of the new Everyone Active Moberly Sports Centre facility, running free activities for local families to enjoy throughout the day. Since then we have seen the centre go from strength to strength, pampering members in the spa, running multiple kids’ classes and member challenges in the gym.
Probably our biggest activation of the year, we launched the Gosh! Kindness Café on the South Bank, encouraging passers by to pledge an act of kindness in return for a free lunch. We still laugh about the girl who promised to be nice to her sister… for a minute!
The peak of summer saw our very own Account Exec, Harry, take to the newly kitted out Third Space gym to capture the incredible work of our client EXF. There was definitely more than one impressive rig on show that day…
Our favourite day of the year, National Fitness Day, saw the team waking up at the crack of dawn to take part in a fun dance routine with Darcey Bussell, encouraging London to #getactive.
Over the course of 2018, our supper series, took off, hosting a number of industry events with delicious menus, fine wines and great speakers. The Gympass dinner in October was a highlight, bringing together leading industry experts to talk about how we can increase the number of inactive individuals and get more people into fitness facilities around the country.
What makes a newsworthy story? DOGS DOGS DOGS. For National Stress Awareness Day, we brought along cute little pups to a group of Everyone Active centres across Westminster, giving members the chance to stroke their worries away and enjoy a fluffy cuddle. Suffice to say, we enjoyed it as much as they did!
We couldn’t have been prouder of, and happier for, our client Neurokinex, who won Best Rehabilitation Facility at the National Fitness Awards. Well-deserved – we still smile thinking about it!
Of course, we couldn’t finish the year without a good old Christmas party! Considering the biggest topic of conversation in our office (apart from client work of course) is food, it seemed fitting that we took to Foodat52 for a southern Indian cooking extravaganza. Safe to say, there were a few sore heads the following day…
Merry Christmas everyone!
